Refined Identity for CLE's Two-Door Future

The 2026 CLE 53 AMG serves as the foundation for these limited Manufaktur Editions, which replace the two-door C-Class and E-Class variants. Available as both a coupe and a cabriolet, the CLE represents Mercedes' strategy of consolidating its midsize coupe and convertible offerings into a single model. Keep reading to find out what's new.

One Engine, Two Personalities

Under the hood, both Manufaktur Editions are powered by an AMG-tuned 3.0-liter inline-six with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The setup includes an electric auxiliary compressor and integrated starter generator, generating 443 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. An overboost function temporarily bumps torque up by 30 lb-ft for 10 seconds. All this is routed through a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic and AMG’s fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.

Manufaktur Program Goes AMG

The term “Manufaktur” refers to Mercedes’ in-house customization division, which offers exclusive finishes, materials, and trim elements. Similar to Bentley’s Mulliner or Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke services, this program has mostly been reserved for top-tier models like the G-Class or S-Class. Now, it makes its way to the CLE 53 AMG, giving customers access to more tailored, high-spec options.

Coupe: Loud and Performance-Driven

The coupe version of the CLE 53 Manufaktur Edition is visually aggressive, coated in matte Graphite Grey Magno paint with yellow AMG graphics running along the sides. Matching yellow accents on the 20-inch forged cross-spoke wheels further highlight the motorsport-inspired aesthetic. This version also includes the AMG Night Package Plus and AMG Performance Studio Package as standard—features that would otherwise be optional. Together, they add gloss black details, dark chrome badging, and reshaped bodywork with a trunk-mounted lip spoiler.

Convertible: Understated and Elegant

In contrast, the cabriolet leans into a more refined visual language. It wears a matte Starling Blue Magno finish with more subtle blue and black striping. The 20-inch AMG MultiSpoke wheels have black accents but forgo the coupe's bright yellow detailing. Carbon fiber elements, including a rear spoiler and mirror caps, come standard thanks to the inclusion of AMG Carbon Fiber Packages I and II.

Interior Themes That Match the Exterior

Interior designs of the two body styles continue the thematic divergence. The coupe features all-black AMG Nappa leather with bright yellow contrast stitching, yellow-stitched floor mats, and illuminated door sills in yellow. The convertible opts for a nautical-inspired white AMG Nappa leather with black accents, white-stitched floor mats, and white-illuminated sills.

High-End Standard Equipment

Both variants come with features typically sold as add-ons in the standard CLE 53. These include the Pinnacle Trim, AMG Dynamic Plus Package (bringing active engine mounts), AMG Performance Seat Package, AMG Carbon Fiber interior trim, AMG Real Performance Sound, and advanced tech like MBUX augmented navigation and head-up display. Even details like the silver-chrome AMG fuel cap and a custom indoor car cover are unique to these editions.

Global Release, But In Limited Numbers

Mercedes hasn't specified U.S. pricing or how many units will be offered domestically. However, it confirmed the cars will arrive at U.S. dealerships later in 2025. In Europe, the same vehicle will be marketed as the CLE 53 Limited Edition and is expected to launch in July 2025.
