Power boat and power wagon dream team

No other luxury vehicle matches as comfortable with a powerboating hobby than an SUV. Whether you need to pull a large trailer to find traction on a potentially greasy slipway, the luxury SUV is your most boat-appropriate Mercedes-Benz. And to celebrate twelve seasons of Mercedes-Benz and Cigarette powerboat racing working in partnership, there is now a 59 Tirranna AMG edition G63. It matches the 2020 team Cigarette boat in terms of its colorway.

An AMG on point for the dawn patrol

When you need to get to that early morning test or launch schedule with your powerboat team, the 59 Tirranna edition AMG G63 is a very capable vehicle solution. It plays on all the traditional strengths of the G-Class, such as its hand-welded steel ladder frame chassis, but has been updated with a more contemporary powertrain. It also features improved front-suspension, to sharpen-up it's steering, which is something that makes threading your way through a narrow or crowded marina parking area, that much easier.

All the power

Both of these AMG-themed machines have amazing V8 powerplants. The Tirranna AMG edition powerboat homes no less than six supercharged Mercury engines. Each of these displaces 4.6-liters and is of a V8-configuration. Individually rated at 450hp, they combined to give the boat a peak power output of 2700hp, which equates to an 80mph top speed, on water. The G63’s 4-litre bi-turbo V8 might be a touch smaller in capacity, but at 577hp, it is plenty potent in its own right.

Not your normal AMG seats

These seats on the AMG Tirranna edition boat are a lot more advanced than they might appear. Toned in macchiato beige and dark blue, the upholstery if formed from a special fabric which heat reflection, to prevent passenger discomfort. A special nano-coated surface surrounds much of the AMG Tirranna edition’s cabin architecture, and true to the best maritime design, its features powerful anti-reflective properties.

G63's with a maritime cabin theme

Inside the 59 Tirranna edition G63, designers have attempted to keep a likeness to the power boat’s cabin. You’ll find gorgeous macchiato beige and dark blue Nappa leather, hand-cut and stitched with the best possible tolerances, to ensure durability and comfort for years to come. Team Cigarette naming reminders are also present on the G63’s floor mats and the passenger side grab handles.

Wheels of gold - sort of

Metallic Black and gold are the dominant themes on the Team Cigarette racing boat. As such you’ll be rolling these very nicely detailed 22-inch alloy wheels on the 59 Tirranna edition G63. They feature a cross-spoke design, which combines principles of strength and aesthetic appeal. And with the gold piping and AMG-branding, they certainly make a statement.

The perfect AMG combination to end each day

Beyond its unique colorway, the 59 Tirranna Edition G63 has a few styling changes from other G63s. There’s a bullbar which shapes around to cover much of the lower bumper area, protecting you from a potential low-speed impact, if you even have to find an emergency route to the water’s edge, through some off.-road terrain. It also has custom-fitted running boards, which obviously easy ingress and debussing for passengers, especially those who might have been walking around a muddy or moist marina and don’t wish to bring dirt or contaminants into the G63 cabin.
