Gold Wrapped AMG GT Attends the Oscars

And the Oscar goes to...
Every year at the Oscars, Hollywood converges to award the best and brightest stars for films that came out the prior year. For this year's award show, Mercedes decided to show up in conjunction with the car appearing in a new movie-themed campaign that ran during the show. Mercedes went so far as to tweet out a fake movie poster that features the gold AMG GT 4-door with the title of "The Love Route."
Quite the car
The AMG GT 4-door is a new addition to the MB lineup and is a spin-off from the AMG GT sport coupe. The 4-door sits on the same platform as the E-class and is positioned to bring some excitement to those who need a little extra room as well as doors in their life. With the sloping roofline, the saloon doesn't sacrifice much in terms of sexiness as MB is the automaker that popularized the look.

You can't go wrong with any of these
When it comes to the model lineup, there is the GT53 at entry level with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six putting out 429 horsepower. Next up is a GT63 with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing 577 horsepower. Seated at the top of the heap is the GT63 S with a tuned version of the boosted V8 creating 630 horsepower.

Friendly competition
Interestingly enough, Cadillac also saw fit to toss their hat into the Oscar mix by being a major sponsor of the show. The Cadillac logo was displayed prominently during the pre-show red carpet extravaganza as well as premiering a few new commercials of their own.
