The Mercedes-Benz Museum is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the epic journey of Bertha Benz using the Benz Patent-Motorwagen Type III. The Berta Benz Days at the museum will be from August 2 to August 4, wherein guided tours will highlight this pioneer in the automotive industry. The journey of Bertha Benz, who was joined by her sons, started in Mannheim and ended in Pforzheim.

This weekend the British Grand Prix takes place at the famous Silverstone circuit. The circuit is said to have the highest average speed out of any on the Formula 1 calendar. Daimler head Dieter Zetsche revealed recently that one new model of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is set to compete with the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Zetsche made the revelation when he was interviewed by Autocar. He indicated that the new S-Class was developed to increase the reach of the company in the luxury car market.

A collaborative effort between StudioTorino and Mercedes-Benz resulted to a distinctive conceptual model of the Mercedes-Benz SL Class. The design was the result of work by design students from Italy who were able to utilize their skills on the luxury vehicle.
