Should I Get an E55 AMG?
For the past few weeks, I’ve been looking into replacing my daily driver. Currently, I run around in a modified Scion FR-S that’s a boat-load of fun. However, its power output definitely leaves something to be desired, and on longer trips, my back gets completely decimated. Thus, my search for something fun and more comfortable.
At first, I was looking for something with a GM V8…until a buddy of mine pulled up in his CLK55 AMG. After a ride in that, I knew what I had to look for: an AMG. Right now, I’m still looking, but the following video caught my eye, or rather, my ear. That supercharger whine combined with the V8’s low, guttural noise is just intoxicating.
However, after having a HORRENDOUS lovely experience with a W8 Passat, I wanted to talk with you all about the pros and cons of owning one of these E55 AMGs. You know, before I spend $10,000 on fixing issues only to lose my shirt and possibly my marriage because of another problem-plagued German sedan.
So how have your experiences been with this car? Have they been nightmares or love affairs?
