Low Bids on This 380SL Make It an Inexpensive Classic

380SL 1

Bidding on this 380SL has just cracked the $5,000 mark at the time of this writing. That’s a lot of car for the money, if someone can pull this off. For most buyers, the 380SL is perfectly fine. The R107 chassis copes perfectly well with the smaller of the V8 engines, even if the 560SL had more power. And this particular V8 has covered less than 62,000 miles.

Ivory white paint on the outside seems to be in very good condition, and there is minimal corrosion under the car. It comes with a factory hard top and was well equipped from the factory. A dual timing chain upgrade has been performed on the car’s engine for added durability and reliability. BringATrailer notes that the aftermarket radio works fine, but the foam in the speakers might be finally giving up. Other visual upgrades include a unique color-match front grille and later-model MB chrome wheels.

In all, someone will have a very fun SL that they can enjoy from the first day of ownership. Will that lucky someone be you?
