Meet the Ancestor F1 Edition

This morning BBC television presenter Lee McKenzie tweeted a photo of a Mercedes-Benz W 02 and a W196. Soon after there was a video of the meetup of the two machines on YouTube. Then came a photo of Lewis Hamilton and Stirling Moss standing side-by-side at Silverstone in front of the cars.

Hamilton has done this sort of thing with McLaren. He drove Senna’s Mp4-4 for TopGear around Silverstone.

I can’t wait to see the fully edited piece. It could come to us the next round in the championship when F1 goes to Canada, or the Beeb could be sitting on the footage until the British Grand Prix in July.
