Classic Mercedes-Benz Pickup Is Quite the Gem
Looking for a break from all the talk about future Mercedes-Benz vehicles?
Well, we invite you to take a few minutes to revel in this classic MB throwback.
The Mercedes-Benz pickup was built during the ‘70s and was based on the W115 chassis, as highlighted in a Top Gear report. The German carmaker only produced a small number of the trucks, which were sold through a number of Mercedes dealerships around the world as limited-edition vehicles.
Cool, huh?
The model pictured, affectionately known as ‘La pick-up,’ was built in 1972. It’s equipped with a diesel-powered 220 D engine. But before it became a classic, in its former life the truck was used more as a workhouse, serving as a primary tool for carrying the equipment used to lubricate railway points.
