Mercedes Motorcycle Contraption Is One Wild Ride

Before anyone gets too excited, you should know that you can’t buy this thing on eBay or Craigslist.

Nope, this crazy Mercedes-Benz contraption is part of the collection at the Vehoniemi Automobile Museum in Finland. Now, whether or not it ever passed through the popular online selling sites isn’t known, but considering it certainly fits the bill, I wouldn’t doubt it.

What exactly is it? Well, judging from the Jalopnik report where we first stumbled on this thing, it’s a 1981 Mercedes-Benz 240D chopped into a motorcycle with a sidecar.

As Jalopnik points out, most of the parts on the contraption look original, including the 2.4-liter diesel engine. But no one from the museum has actually confirmed those speculations. That said, one thing is pretty clear – you wouldn’t want to show up at a Harley Davidson convention on this ride.
