The E63 AMG was never a slow vehicle. The new one won’t be any different, but thanks to a leak from what appears to be the mothership themselves, we now know specifics about the new Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63 S models. The numbers are quite staggering.

The E63 S will have 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. That’ll be good for a run from 0-62 in 3.5 seconds. The less-powerful standard version will still make 563 horsepower and 533 lb-ft of twist. The run to 62 mph in the slower car is said to take 3.7 seconds. Neither of those are actually slow, and if the numbers pan out would put them in the same league as the Mercedes-AMG GT S, which is a full-on sports car.

The Mercedes-AMG E63 will also have Benz’s new 9-speed MCT transmission. Basically, it’s a traditional automatic transmission, but has a wet start-up clutch. That should provide smoother operation than a traditional dual-clutch, without hindering the car’s launch ability.

Expect to see the E63 later this year, and the absolutely diabolical E63 wagon a little afterwards.
