Photos of the Week: C63 on an a7R

The car world is ever-changing, and each year there’s something new, but here at “Photos of the Week” that goes double for camera equipment as well. This week, these beautiful shots popped up in a post from user pcho (a.k.a. Perry), using his new Sony a7R camera.

For those unfamiliar, yet interested, Sony released a new line of mirrorless DSLR cameras a few months back, and they’re kicking up quite the stir in the photography realm. These cameras are much smaller due to the lack of a mirror, but they pack a wallop of pixels – 36mp-worth, in Perry’s case.

Of course, megapixels aren’t the most important thing in a camera. One mustn’t forget dynamic range: the ratio between the darkest shadow and the brightest highlight in an image. When it comes to dynamic range, these tiny Sonys have a lot of it — enough to capture the details in the tires while still picking up the pearlescence of Perry’s paint.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether you’re as much of a camera geek as I, but you can always appreciate the end-results of a keen eye and a sharp lens.
