More Spy Shots of Next-Generation Mercedes-Benz SL

At this point, I have to think that Mercedes is just flaunting the next-generation SL around for advertising, and there is no actual testing going on. Over the last few months there have been several different sets of spy photos depicting the new grand tourer, and with each set of pictures, the car is slowly losing more and more of its camo. This latest round of visual evidence sees the car discard a bit more of its coverings around the new rear end, and we can see better outlines of the venting that will be coming on the nose.

As you likely know by now, the new design is much more of an evolution of the current drop-top than any sort of radical new look. We still have no new info on the new engines that will be powering the big roadster, but expect a whole collection of V6 and V8 engines starting with the supercharged V6 of the SL400 and going all the way up to a big forced-induction V8 for an AMG model. We hope the turbocharged V12 engine will return for the new car, but we aren’t holding our breath.

Take a peek at these shots in our gallery below, and let us know if you spot any new detail that we missed.
