Why Is The Stig Back On the Top Gear Test Track in an Old Mercedes?
It has been a few months since the entire Top Gear fracas debacle, and although time has passed, that pain of losing such a beloved show hasn’t. Even with a couple seasons still on Netflix, there’s a tragic loss that many of us still feel. Thankfully, the Top Gear trio is hard at work creating a new show, possibly called Gear Knobs, for Amazon Prime. However, things won’t ever be the same, for many reasons, chief among them: there will be no more Stig. Or will there be?
The last rumor we heard, The Stig got sacked along with the other three blokes, so what’s The Stig doing in one of the latest Top Gear videos for the magazine’s YouTube channel (complete with 360 degree viewing!)? And, why is The Stig driving around the Top Gear test track in a Mercedes SLS AMG? Nothing about this makes sense.
Of course Top Gear will be back with three new hosts, but The Stig wasn’t supposed to be a part of that show anymore. Could this mean The Stig will continue to visit the Top Gear test track and blaze ludicrous lap times? And if so, why is Top Gear using an old SLS AMG rather than the new AMG GT? Something doesn’t smell right, although, that could just be The Stig himself. Some say he bathes in pickled herrings because it gives him the fizz.
