How-To Tuesday: Which Floor Mat Is Right for Your Mercedes?

Aside from the bottom of your seat, there’s only one other spot in your car that sees more wear and tear (sometimes literally) than any other place. Yes, that’s right: foot wells. Yeah, you can buy some cheap generic floor mats at an auto parts supply store that are clear for about a month and then turn yellow, or shaped as though the necessary gas pedal space is an afterthought, but you didn’t buy a generic car. You bought a Mercedes. So, when it comes to interior protection, for today’s How-To Tuesday article, we put a few quality floor mats to the test.

Despite your local dealership’s intention to tell you otherwise, you do have options outside of OEM for floor protection. For this instance, we are putting OEM floor mats against those manufactured by the visually spectacular CocoMats, and the amazingly durable WeatherTech floor mats.

In comparing what brands and floor mats you have at your disposal, the discussions range on style, loyalty, new companies who buck the trend of traditional rules, and the benefits of the tried and true. Such is the quality of the floor mats, though, that the decision is really up to you as to what you want on the floor of your Mercedes. Really the only thing that would sway a decision one way or another is the climate in which you use your car.
