Heavyweight Head to Head: Maybach 57S Versus Audi S8
The last generation Maybach was an ultimate failure. While the car offered a staggering amount of comfort, luxury, and opulence, almost no one bought the quarter-of-a-million-dollar luxury land yacht. And after a few years, Mercedes folded the company.
Now the nameplate is back, but only as a trim level for the new S-Class. However, there are a few of those older generation Maybachs still floating around. Somehow, one of them got into the hands of a tuner and ended up on a racetrack in Russia for a drag event. Seriously, the video below proves it.
According to the video’s description, the Maybach is a 57S with 630 horsepower to the wheels, and it’s up against an Audi S8 with 600 horsepower. I don’t know why anyone would decide to race a Maybach versus an S8, but then again, this is Russia, and things are done quite differently in the vodka fueled country. Regardless, let’s sit back and enjoy as we watch two definite heavyweights go head to head.
