Unintended acceleration in reverse

This may be an old topic...please let me know if that is the case.

Has anyone here experienced their model 560 SL (1987-1989) accelerate in reverse while attempting to remove from the "P" position in the transmission?

Please let me know, need to research for civil litigation purposes. MB has swept this under the rug and this ain't happening again!

I think you'll find this is because of the torque going through the auto box.
my 500 does it unless you cover the brakes

The acceleration I'm talking about it is akin to you flooring it while manuevering through PRNDL. It overcame the brakes....a case went through civil litigation in Hawaii, United States and I was deposed for a case on this. Thanks for the input though, it is appreciated.

What ever happened to that case. My wives 560SL just started to do that, First hit the side of garage door and nearly went through fence behind her. Second time went completely through the fence without warning. Had it in to MB and supposedly couldn't find anything wrong.

I experienced this once about 7 years ago on my 88' 560. Good thing I had the garage door open but scared the c...p out of my neighbor. At the time I attributed it to my mixing gas vs brake because the pedals are unusually close to one another. I remember thinking that it was a terrible design and that there should have been a recall on it. I only put 100 additional miles on it after that and sold it a year ago. Considering the prior posts, it might not have been my mistake.
