Does my radio have a mind of it own??
I've had the Bose stereo in my car, untill 3 wks ago when I installed the euro comand and an amp and subs. They kept almost everything in tact though, they didn't remove the stock amp. But since that day I was noticing that the volume was having a mind of it's own. Sometimes I would swear that I could hear bearly anything and then next thing you know it comes on louder. I honestly thought maybe I had an ear infection or something so I went to the doctor-but they said my ears were ok...What do you think could be wrong? I have a capicator so it doesn't drain out the battery, so it couldn't be the battery, right?? Should I take my car to the dealer, or myself to a better doctor?? Any input please.................................

Aren't the Command systems that steve gets 'repaired' warranty units and salvage? That might be the problem right there- that one just never got fixed
Did you install it yourself? Perhaps the install is botched and something is activating the audio pilot...does Command have that feature???

Audio pilot? Care to elaborate what that is, please? I don't think it is the comand everything else is ok on it...And I didn't install it, Steve installed.

Your Audiopilot must have been set to high.
Go to the dealer and have them turn it to about +3dB. I suspect that with such a dramatic change, it was set to +9dB.
Audio Pilot is a sound compensation technology with the BOSE audio systems and it raises or lowers the volume according to ambient sound levels to compensate for road noise and the such.

Actually the BOSE audio pilot cannot be changed thru the DAS software. The only way I know to defeat, minimize this feature is to modify the sound differential seen by the microphone.
What can be changed by the dealer is the speed sensing volume feature of the MB and here is where the 0, 3, 6 and 9dB settings come into play.
