Grey Market Parts

I would like to modify this center channel cover to house a remote radar/laser detector display. The part # is 203-830-18-18 plus the color code 148 for Alpaca Grey (thanks Shawn at MB Annapolis!). It is for a non-US spec C230. Anyone know how I can get one delivered to Houston Texas?

Your dealer might be able to order it for you.

If not, you can contact Steve. He is the Euro Pimp, and could get you almost anything you could want.

Dude. That's hella' sick.

There's only one problem with that in some hot areas...
It'd like, melt that screen if it was made of plastic with any boiling point below at least 150 deg F

It's been done before.

I got all of those parts for Parktronic from Steve and Wanda (www.mbenznl.nl) - in the correct color code, and no CBB block.

The modification from a Parktronic display (OEM) to a radar display has been done - look in the w203 AMG section.

This modification (post facelift) also comes with a fresh air vent, wheel and tray - There is also NO fresh air intake in the CLC (possibly other C-Class cars as well) so you may now have a choice to your finish.

Good luck!
Jake

Funny you should ask, but next to parts.com in my recent searches, they seem to be the lowest prices on parts on the internet. Only thing is they don't specify what the
shipping will be. Parts.com is a big no no, if you read the agreement, they are a 3rd party and aren't responsible for anything except collecting the money and passing on the order. I prefer to deal direct, no 3rd party.
I'm going to order a few things from them in the near future.

Odd that the part in the door that keeps the door from opening too far broke recently...right where it bolts to the chassis. I tend to think the body shop that replaced my door f'd it up.
it's about 50 bucks..but then look where I park. (below in sig)
I better fix it before I have other problems and end up damaging the door.

I need to throw in a few odds and ends as well. An extra coil pack (always keep one with you), the little things that hold the clips for the trunk cover....

For parts at MB Annapolis ask for Shawn Parrett or email Shawn at sparrett@mileone.com.

Shawn helped me out with an interior noise issue early on and I have bought MB rims (thanks to one of the big tire chains) and other components from Shawn at what I consider reasonable prices for MB parts.

I did get a response from Steve in the Netherlands re the center channel cover, $110 US shipped to Houston TX. I'm waiting to hear how much of that may be shipping, as my son is headed for the Netherlands and could possibly bring it back with him if shipping is a substantial factor. The price includes the cover and the underlying frame that mounts the wheel/dial for ventilation control, which it appears that U.S. C-class cars do not have. I've had the cover off and the feeder tube for ventilation is just below so my guess is if one wanted a functional vent it may not be difficult. Not sure that I will bother with it, as I may place the Escort speaker or a substitue underneath. Would be optimal placement vs behind drivers side dash where it is a present. Challenge will be how shallow the area underneath is, which may mean a substitute for the Escort speaker.

Your son might be able to get it from mbgtc.de (if available) while over there or check with a local stealer. Otherwise Steve will charge you VAT. And in that case it may be a wash.

Thanks for the suggestion - mbgtc.de indicated that they didn't have the part in stock so the funds were mailed to Steve today. Pics will follow at some point.
