Performance pack or no.. Coming from RS4
Few questions: If you had a choice, would you get the perform pack? I really want LSD because I will be putting 4 snows on for winter. I figure if I go decide to trade the RS4 in, I might as well as get all the goodies on a the C63.
The issue is, there are hardly any 2010 with the amg perform package available. That means ordering a 2011 which will be several months.
I think I want white, so if anyone knows of a dealer with a new white with perfm pack around, please let me know.
What else should I be aware of coming from the Audi??
Thx
I have been driving my car since two years and I don't miss the LSD in any way. I've driven a C63 with the LSD and couldn't spot the difference. Why do you say it's a must? I've seen track tests done by car magazines where it was shown that a C63 with LSD and PP (no PPP/P31 at that time) is only about one second faster in a lap than stock (non PP,no LSD).
IMO the RS4 is an amazing car. When trading it for a C63, you will just have to get used to the RWD. You can feel it when coming out of corners when ESP kicks in and slows you down whenever you give too much gas. Thank god we can turn the ESP completely off, but you have to get used to the back sliding out and learn to handle it. Moreover, in a straight line you'll see that the car is much faster... and you'll feel it too because of the roar coming from the back
If you use your car in the winter, you'll be cursing why you traded the most advanced all-wheel-drive quattro system for a RWD. It's something you just have to learn living with - I did and, believe me, I', having the time of my life while sliding the C63 around corners going 30km/h
On a separate note, I live in the mountains in Poland and snows pretty heavily down here and get along without AWD just fine.
In addition, I think the navi in the C is a bit better than the RS4. If you had the new MMI which is used in the A5 it would be a whole different story.
BTW The leasing on my car ends in December 2011 and quite frankly, I put a lot of faith in the Audi engineers that they will FINALLY bring the new RS4 to the market. I know it will be a spectacular car but how long can we wait for any updates on it? There are no pics, no specs, no videos, no spyshots... nothing. I'm starting to freak out
Knowing it will share a lot of components and specs with RS5 I know it will be a mind-blowing car. The new RS5 is majestic but a coupe is not functional enough for me - need a four-door. Audi, bring it on!

I'm not disagreeing that the RS4 is a great car. It is in many ways but has many flaws in my opinion and this carbon build up issue is over the top. I love my RS4, but it is way too slow and mods are about non existent for this car. My wife has a new 2010 Q5 prestige S-Line with the new MMI and it is amazing for sure. My comments were based on me having an 08 C63 without LSD. In my opinion it is a must. One wheel wonder in this car with this amount of tq is a joke. I have driven these cars in depth back to back and in my opinion the C63 is more fun, faster, and more enjoyable to live with on a daily basis
The RS4 is more like an overpriced evo. If Audi resolves this CBU issue and returns with an RS4 I would definitely consider it, but for now the only Audi we'll have in the driveway will be the Q5... I think the OP will love the C63 and wont be missing the RS4.

First off, there is night and day difference in winter performance. Quite frankly, I felt unsafe in the winter. I had 4 brand new snows on my C63 but it didn't make much difference.....got stuck 3 times. Lost power twice cause of unplowed roads and 10-12 inch of snow. Never had one problem with 3 winters with the RS4. We have very unpredictable winters and lots of steep hills.
Don't think there's too much difference wrt the PP. Lots of mods available as stated above.
You won't be dissapointed but I recommend you get a winter beater unless your winters are mild, your roads are very well groomed/plowed and you don't have many inclines/declines.
I love both cars. I miss the manual transmission, the sexy look, and winter performance in the RS4. I love the build quality, the low-mid end torque, and the power slides of the C63
good luck
