Tommy, how did the eurolight application go? I have had the smoked kit sitting in my room for months, but have been too lazy to try it.

It was pretty much tape up around the headlights, wipe on the pretreatment, then wipe on the tint, then let it set. Though you do have to watch the temperature when you are applying it.

I did the side mirror repeaters as well.

Great job over the years Tommy. Your sarcasm has been balanced by all the help you have given out as well. Glad you still have your awe inspiring coupe

You know what they say - big Smurf hands, big Smurf...

Xhale - it's been a while, so my memory is a little fuzzy. My guess was that I got the calipers for around $500? And I got a about a hundred off the list price on the Racing Brake rotors (they need non-ceramic pads, btw).
Though I really have not noticed any difference in braking, but the rotors are 7 lbs lighter than C32 stock, which is a nice drop in unpsprung weight. (though the entire package should be fairly heavier than the stockies were, of course).

Good to see some of the OGs popping out of the woodwork again like Lorinser.

I'd describe it more as an overlayment. It's a liquid that hardens, but can be removed with a liquid they provide (probably alcohol).

It doesn't provide the protection of Lamin-X, but it is a hell of a lot easier to apply on our weirdly-shaped headlights.

FYI- last I checked, C32 calipers are about 275 each on parts.com
Rotors are about 100, and akebono pads are about 100 also + about $5 for a sensor. So about 900-1000 with shipping etc.

Dynos to be done tomorrow (01/13) after work at a shop a mile from work. I have:
Renntech pulley
Chipped by Upsolute with what is supposed to be a tune factoring in the pulley, but I have my doubts
K&N filter
Supersprint headers
Magnaflow downstream cat
Eisenmann race exhaust

I'm hoping for 185-195 at the wheels

What do people do about ESP? Turn off at the button, or go into dyno mode?

Once done, I'll start shopping for another tune if I think it may be worth it

Remember to do a throttle reset. Dynos 101 - ensure WOT & take IAT, Baro pressure & humidity/Air density.

Wow - I suppose it's about time. It's been a while since I've seen your car - I like the new (or old, depends on how you look at it) mods.

Before you ask - yes, my rear shelf is still wrapped in plastic in the shed.

How did it do? Its trap speed from Atco or Old Bridge Township might serve as another yardstick. ;)

Oh my *******g god. This was the dyno experience from hell. Let's see - it starts off badly; even though I told him that it was rear wheel drive, he of course set it up for front wheel drive (had to turn the dyno around in the garage). Then he pops the hood, is looking for a boost source, then realizes that my adaptor for the wire for my boost gauge (takes the thin tube from the gauge and steps it up to the thicker T fitting) is cracked and not keeping everything together. So I have to get a new adaptor fitting, fine - not a huge deal. Oh, and while getting the car up the ramps, he hits the top of the dyno frame; we check it out; no new damage, but notice that my Magnaflow has a crack, so I'll need a new cat (might go back to stock, no matter the $1k cost).

Then he sets everything up, I'm watching from the front with the hood open, and the supercharger lifts off the block at the end of the run. It was almost funny. The banjo fitting had come loose, which was interesting. So we get that back tightened down. Not wanting to push my luck at all, I stop the presses right there. He unplugs everything and puts down the hood. We hear a "whoosh", can't figure it out, then open the hood again, and the passenger side prop gave up the ghost and had busted its seal. I was ready to cry or gulp down a bottle of Jaeger.

So, needless to say, I've got my rental all set for tomorrow; I'll call my local shop and see about limping it in to have them go over everything and start replacing sh*t. The Fiat Abarth can't come to the US soon enough.

Talked to my shop this morning on the way to work (driving a rental Prius - always wondered what it was like. Now I can cross it off my bucket list, and go back to real cars). Price he's getting is $1,350 for an oem cat, but it'll be worth it if I never have the 0420 come up again, and it quiets things down a bit. The airbox for the s/c was still tight when I checked on things this morning, so that's a good thing. Car goes in on Monday.

Dang Tommy! I hope everything works out in the end! How is driving a Prius like?

It's like a toy. I hate the position of the center console, and find the ergonomics awful, not to mention the biggest expanse ever of dark charcoal for the dash.

It was a little quicker than I expected. I haven't driven the CRZ yet (only sat in it, which I found much superior to the Prius layout, but I'm biased, since it reminds me of my crx), but especially with the manual option, I'd imagine I'd lean much more to the CRZ if I had to buy a hybrid.

Still, it's a fun rental for the day, and a step up from my normal Hyundai Accent with manual window cranks.

Sorry for the off-topicness but I LOVE THE CR-Z After I saw this one at the SD Auto show I fell in love
