Supercharger vs. Turbo
I have been toying around with a low pressure turbo application for my C55. I know the S\C solutions are the norm. How much boost can the stock compression C55 take without getting detonation?I even found an older thread about a TT C55 but I don't remember it going into much detail about the build.

I am leaning toward the turbo idea, because I have built turbo motors in the past, though they were carbureted Air-cooled VW motors.

How much boost can the stock compression C55 take without getting detonation?

Thoughts? Ideas? Pros?, Cons?

You should get in touch with the person selling there widebody C55. He had a custom clear window put into his trunk to run rear mount twin turbos on it. He may know some info you want to know since he has already thought about the idea. GL and keep us posted on what you decide to do.

I think you are referring to Blackroof C55? I don't think he ever did the TT mod. I just posted on his Forsale post to ask if he did or not.

I'd go with the SC set up. Since the 5.5 liter motor was already factory SC and Kleeman makes a plug and play system. While turbo cars make lot of HP/TQ they do have heat build up, lag issues, intercoolers and the other plumbing is a nightmare. Plus you'll be fabricating parts, calculating fuel delivery, injectors, fuel rails and finding an ECU flash to work when a fully engineered bolt on SC system is ready to do go. It's fun to do it yourself but with the Kleeman system you know at the end of several long days of DYI, it will work.

I think for the turbo it would be hard to make the ECU work with it. If we cold have a twin turbo setup it would be amazing.
