C32 Center Oval Vent on Dash
The vent in the center on top of the dash, in my 2002 it had a dial on the dash. I've seen on a 2003 it does not have the dial.
Is there a reason for this?

The dial alters how much air diverted to flow out that vent you run the ac. If it is turned all the way down more air flows out through the other air vents and vice verse

not saying you are wrong but i thoguth it was to regulate outside air you want in the system which if open all the way the faster you drive the harder it would blow when that valve is open, but it would not be a good idea to open it if you are trying to get heat going in the winter since cold outside air will not help with heatin

What he says. Opening the top vent just sends more air upwards instead of to the dash vents. No change in source. I added this to my '06.

When I first got my car, there was an issue with the top vent. When it would rain and I would have a/c on, it would cause my windshield to fog up. Apparently they fixed it with an updated part when I took it in to get looked at a few years ago.
