2001 c320 brake booster leak
I finally got my car to a shop and they told me it was the brake booster . Napa auto wants 541.00$ automotix wants 108$ for it . Can anyone tell me if theres anyway to get a cheaper one ? Im sketched out about online remanufactured parts sites. My mechanic told me to just get the part and he will do it when he gets time. Can this cause engine damage ? The brake fluid is full not leaking at all

There is nothing wrong with a reman. booster. It should be as good as new. I can't comment on US pricing.

Your option is a new genuine Ate booster from RMeuropean.

But i dont want a 407$ brake booster unless its going to become a drift car or something. Why the hell should i pay for a remanufactured item that doesnt possess any special powers over the 108$ one i posted . I mean come on people why waste money .

Right - You are trying to save money and I understand that.
If you are worried then have your Ate on the car rebuilt or find a rebuilt Ate.

I'm going to give u the procedure to check your brake booster
Pump the brakes with the car off then press the pedal down then turn the engine on
If the brake pedal does not sink then its broke
If your booster was leaking u'd see the tank go down at least a little

bought a cardone brake booster, turns out my brake booster was fine, but my mechanic told me theres a rubber boot behind the brake piston near the foot pedal. Thats what is cracked or warn out. So when i press the brakes lightly the sound stops. anyone have an idea what this part could be called. Mercedes has no idea please help

I told you in post #12 on your first thread to "Please check the condition of all rubber boots, grommets & plugs in the firewall to the cabin."
From the EPC there is no true boot shown on the brake rod from the pedal to the master cylinder.
This is the part I think your mechanic is talking about.

Ivan - I've changed my mind. Ignore that post on P/N
Here is the brake rod boot - Found a picture. It is not shown in my copy of the EPC on the booster diagram or the pedal box diagram.
Take it to your dealer & tell him you want what I've circled in the picture. It probably comes with the booster assembly.

an o-ring or seal was cracked mechanic replaced that along with my water pump , thermostat, and idler pulley he also included a coolant flush and he refilled it with pentofrost. Mechanic told me this car is clean enough to eat off the bottom of it and to never get rid of the car. Really excited to hear that relief.... thanks all for your help i ended up paying $505. For everything to be fixed in my car.
