Won't start, many tests performed.....
I have a ’85 500 SEC Euro.
The last time I drove it, twice I got a couple of slow sputtering starts from a stop light. Once the RPM’s got up it seemed to run fine. Not wanting to get stranded, I immediately drove it home and let it sit for a couple of days. I tried to start it a couple days later and it wouldn’t start at all. It cranks just fine, but won’t start.
After searching the forums, I’ve tried these things:
1. Put more gas in. (the simple things first)
2. Checked the fuel pump, heard the buzz of the pump.
3. Checked the fuel pump relay and crossed #7 and #8 pin, heard the buzz of the pump and tried to start it.
4. Checked the coil by pulling a spark plug and checked for a spark. Got a spark.
Any other DIY checks before I relent and tow it to a dealership?????
I appreciate the help!
Steve
BTW, this car is for sale: http://www.stilife.com/sec/

The car has been on a charger and it cranks strong.
Since the last post, I've disconnected the fuel line into the fuel distributor and had good fuel flow. I've also enriched the fuel mixture. Enriching had no effect so I put it back to the previous setting.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
S.
