How to remove the rear subwoofer?

How to remove the rear subwoofer?
I have a 2008 cls 550. how do I remove the rear subwoofer from the deck? Do I need to remove the seats? Center console? If so, how do I go about this? I have the rear power headrest and sunshade. Please help.

Thanks for the response! Damn seems like a lot of work to get to that sub. Ok well do you know how I can go about that. I don't want to break anything by unknowingly tugging on things. How do I start taking out the seats? Do I need to take the center console out too?

You do not have to take the console out. The seat bottoms have buttons underneath and pull right up. Just feel around the front bottoms for the them. The seat backs have3 or 4 bolts on bottom. you will see 2 once the seat bottoms are off and the other 1 or 2 (cant remember how many) is on bottom seat back between seat and rear of center console. The seat back lifts straight up once the bottom bolts are removed. I did this to remove the old window tint glue and have the rear window retinted.

C pillars next. Then the headrests. The C pillars are secured with push clips then slide up and out of the notches in the rear deck cover. The headrests have little plastic levers that have to be pushed either up or down. The levers are located on the mechanism that swings to allow the headrest to raise and lower. You should be able to see one of them on the right side of the right seat headrest to get an idea of how it comes apart. I think the levers were black. When the levers are release you have to pull up while moving the little lever in the release position. I had to use a "L" shaped pick and a lot of patience to work the lever while pulling on the headrest. You cant really see what your doing so you have to kinda feel your way around. This was the part that took the most amount of time for me.

Dude thanks for all your help by the way. So look, I'm looki g at the these headrest and I can't get them off. Don't know where to even start. Let me remind you that I have the electronic drop feature on these so I'm staring at this actuator thing with no way in.

Thats right. Mine has the electronics drop too. I pretty sure you need to drop them down to see what I was talking about. Study the right side (there should be an opening you can see where the chrome on the headrest goes into the electronic drop assembly)and look for the lever I was talking about. Like I said, it was a nightmare.

Mission complete!! Thanks a million you guys. Also this can serve as a DIY for anyone in the future. If you were wondering, I was trying to remove the sub for a couple of reasons. One being the horrible rattle I was getting from the sub after installing an after market sub setup. Also I was curious after removing the assembly, how good the "hole" would serve as a port for the bass. Well let me say, it's works perfect. Way cleaner and louder base being driven into the cab.
