As for the options- it seems that the mags often get the most expensive cars. I think the CLS one of the mags tested was stickering over 130k

My thoughts are:
Either its marketing BS not much unlike the 55K engines where the E Class supposedly had 469hp and the S, SL, CL all had over 500 but when the dyno hit it was all the same.
Or they tweaked the boost slightly higher on S class PP cars... The M157 obviously has a lot more in it as the more recent tunes have proven so. Case in point (regarding the M156) the C63 std cars versus the N/A E63 where the C63 was detuned and E63 came in full at 518 hp.

Thought of that one--but I know I would never get an SLK due to practical reason. The SLK engine is actually the AMG modified but non induced version of M157--thus based on the same 5.5 engine.
Love the carbon ceramic brakes. My new toy has the P30 package, limited slip and interior and exterior carbon fiber trims. Race a brand new Corvette stingray on the way home from the dealer and never saw the back of the corvette. Didn't have the gut to test the 186 top speed, but man the car is a beast. Hope you guys like it

Dude. That is what I said on the dealer's lot. When I got it, I got it warranty until 4/2017, full $299 detail, Service C and D all for free. I like to think I got a pretty good deal. Love love love the power coming from a M3. This AMG is a beast.
