GLK 3rd year serive

Learning my lesson last year, paying $900+, https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...service-b.html, I am doing my home work for the 3rd year service.

First, according to the service manual, I need to have Service 3 - oil and filter change for engine, Service 10 - roof clean and lube, and Service 20 - 722.9 transmission oil and filter change.

Checking the service book again, it looks like service A (odd year) and service B (even year) are only check and inspection, which doesn't include any 'actual work'. I am wondering if I can just tell them to do 3, 10 and 20 but nothing else. Or just 3 and 20, I suppose I can clean and lube the roof myself.

Does anyone have experience with the 3rd year service?

I was just at the MB dealership March 27 for the similar 3-year service @ 41,000 km paid $680 (Canadian funds).
- 'A' service items 1,3,10,20
- lubricate sunroof slides
- transmission service flush and fill (2.5 hours) only $60 for Mobil ATF
- checked brakes/tires
- topped up washer fluid
- lubed door locks
- checked battery

I questioned the 2.5 hour labor $cost$ for the transmission service but was told it was part of the required service to maintain the factory warranty.

Interesting. M-B of Canada says to service the transmission at 3 years/40,000 kilometers? MBUSA says 4 years/40,000 miles. That is a huge disparity. What gives? There are reports on this forum that the transmission flush can be done in 1.5 hours. However, to do the job correctly, the torque converter must also be drained. The total fluid required is in the range of 8-9 liters/quarts. Check your service bill for the total amount of fluid consumed.
ps: $680 CDN is cheap. I was quoted $700-$800 USD for the transmission flush alone. I don't think you got the correct service.

Transmission service is at 60,000 km, usually if you get 50,000 km plus in service, you may need to consider doing that so that you don't have to come in another time or have it overdue next year. I got phone quote from MB Canada for $320 for transmission, on top of $350 for service A plus oil and filter change. So its consistent with Schutzen's. Only thing is that he can probably get away with transmission at 41,000 km.

See my other comment. I think they miss led you as transmission service only needed at 60,000 km.

OK, thanks for the 60k kms information. I plan to do mine in keeping with Canada and the rest of the world.
I would ask the dealer to itemize the 722.9x transmission service. The quote sounds like half the job omitting the torque converter draining. There are volumes about the 722.9 transmissions in the W204 (current C-Class) forum.
