First track day with the new car>>

Cold day and a little damp (4c) Had trouble getting the Dunlops up to temp. Played with the pressures and thanks to Danny Kok I settled in at 40lbs hot. Tire wore nicely. No where near the 4 lap toasting that the top Stooge at Top Gear accomplished>>> Should be good for at least 4 good lap days with light hands and feet.
Brakes are outstanding. Car rally hooks up once warmed up.
Can't wait for next Wednesday and another day at Mosport. Hopefully a bit warmer.
Enjoy
NOTE: Those expecting better headroom with a helmet on over the sedan>>>>Nope. Very tight

Those crisp shifts and melodious exhaust notes must be a real thrill from behind the wheel.
Didn’t notice too many guys passing you.

Head room ....just pop that sunroof out of there.

That do it? Save a little weight and lower the CoG to boot.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The BS is completely different than the Sedan. Like I said before they corrected everything I felt need attention and then some. Running in the cold and wet I consistently ran about 2 seconds faster around Mosport than the sedan (1:39 vs 1:41 averages) This is without really pushing to the edge. To get past 1:39 in the sedan I was on the brink the whole way round and killing tire. Not so with the BS Its a very easy car to drive at speed. Lets star from the ground up.
Tires (Dunlop SM Race MO): if driven well, smooth into a corner carrying rolling speed to the apex soft on brakes and soft back on the gas these will last quite a few track day. Tires are very quiet and predicable once dialled in. Not great in the wet but superb in the dry.
Brakes. Everyone talks about how fast this car is. The stopping power is incredible. Fade is there but minimal. Rotors and pads are well mated. The 15"+ rotors up front do the job when asked.
Suspension. Car was very well behaved under stress with the OEM settings. May try a 1 click for a little less rebound on Wednesday to see how it behaves.Would like a little less roll in the twisties but its more than acceptable the way it is.
Transmission. Shifting on command is nearly there. There is a nagging lag in downshift in high stress situations that is unnerving. I was hoping Fritz was going to have that corrected for launch but it does not look that way. I have emailed him to see if there is a pending update coming as he alluded she he was at Laguna. Otherwise a HUGE improvement.
Engine. What can I say. Power for days. The drivetrain get the power to the wheels seamlessly. The overall drivetrain stays well below critical temp levels which is a monumental task in any AMG/.Thyy really nailed it on this one. Thankfully
Headroom>>.Booo>>
Gotta run. Later.
Here is one last session :http://youtu.be/e0bPOPMg-P8
Great videos! We should start our own Top Gear TV show. At least online
Great driving, how much faster would you say the car is VS your C63?
thanks
