05 clk500 issues, please help!!!
so i don't drive this car often, 2 weeks ago i drove it for 30 mins and it died on me while i was turning at a redlight, would not start again. One hour later it started again and able to drive back home. Last weekend i tried to drive it to Mercedes to get it checked, died on me again within 20 mins of driving, won't start again till an hour later, took me all day to drive it back home because it seems like when something is hot, the car shuts off. And when it shuts off i can't start it again till the engine is cool...any idea? please advise!!
oh and i forgot to mention its almost 2 months overdue for service..hahaha, i don't think that has anything to do with the issue.

The dealer wouldn't replace mine under warranty as they couldnt mimic the problem and confirm it was indeed the CPS. I told them it was BS and having my car shut off while I was driving is not my idea of fun... seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. They still wouldnt budge, so I replaced it on my dime. I have had no problems since! Good luck!

Really? It was under warranty and they refused to replace it? Unbelievable! I know that proving CPS failure can be difficult since it rarely throws a code, but still, it's easy to diagnose - heat = dying or no start, solved by cold water on the CPS - it doesn't take a rocket surgeon...

cps came in and i've looked right rear engine and i couldn't find it, not much space back there, any idea, suggestion, or pictures? i've seen pictures of it on the E-class that didn't help, i don't know if its at the same area as my w09 clk500....thanks

See Wiki: Same position on all V6 & V8 Benz engines.

Glyn, that looks like an M272 engine. On the M112/M113 engines, it's actually closer to the 12 o'clock position, which ends up being hidden by the MAF sensor and throttle intake elbow. If you remove those parts, it makes the job much easier. Here's the WIS:

Nah! It's in exactly the same position below the head. The M272/273 block is merely a stiffened M112/113 block with quadcam heads.

Hmm, I've replaced a few on the M112 and M113's and I swear they were almost directly below the MAF. Maybe 10-degrees offset at the most. I guess it's just an
