I think you can only remove the rear seat head rests and only on cars with folding rear seats.

to install sheepskin
My car does not have the folding seat and I have taken the rears out to clean the glass better. It's a PITA and slight design flaw with cars that don't have a folding seat but... Pull the rest all the way up and tilt it in the forward position. Then slightly pull it towards you. It will come out. As far as the front's not sure? Why would you ever need to take the front ones out?

They do come out. I had mine out to install covers. There is an area on the side or back of the seat that you can push to release the head rests. I'll check for the exact location tomorrow.

2012 c300 front headrest removal directions
Front headrests can be removed by following these steps:
1. Take seat's back cover, starting with 2 lowest clips, then sliding the cover down.
2. Unplug the electrical connector (that goes inside the sliding rod) and take it out of the holding clip (to avoid damage when pulled)
3. Gently push both sliding rods up until it stops. The pin on one of the rods would not let it slide further up – you have to use flat screwdriver to release the pin while pushing rods up.
4. Once rods moved approx. ¼ of an inch use regular button on the top of the seat to release and pull out headrest. BE CAREFUL not to pull it too hard to avoid damage to the wire.

'12 c300, non folding seats, rear head rest comes out
We still have a my first 2012, C300 sport, 4matic, non folding back seats. You have to pull rear head rest all the way up, then (if sitting in backseat facing trunk) you pull hard, the right side of head rest will come out allowing you to turn it clockwise for a better position for head rest to come out. The right side of the headrests are shorter than they are on left side, but it's great they will turn clockwise from parallel (with back seat) to 5 & 11. We took them out super easy after figuring out correct way! Best of luck, hope this helps!!!
