GTS in the flesh
Am discussing the European Delivery of the GTS at the end of August, I had a chance to take a look at one of the first local arrivals.
This is a brilliant blue non-Edition 1 GTS with a MSRP of $146k.
Absolutely love the exhaust note on the car! Overall I am really pleased with the interior and exterior of the car. This thing fits like a glove
Couple observations:
1. The Nav screen doesn't look out of place like in other models. They have done a nice job with it.
2. The steering wheel is very thick but super comfy. Nice paddles.
3. Not visible in any press photos, the car has two small "rear bumpers" next to the license plate. They look stupid and should be removed.
4. The car seems taller than on press photos. I hope that this is just a pre-delivery setting. The cars needs to be an inch lower at least.
5. The airbag cover appears to be the same design as the S-Class coupe. That S-Class one is much nicer in leather/stiching than the cheap looking rubber of the GTS (or the SLS for that matter). Possible retrofit?
iPhone pics; please excuse the quality. Enjoy!

Half Dinamica steering wheel - must not have ordered the Dynamic Plus pkg. Night Styling trim is okay but I think the Silver Chrome pkg looks better with the blue. IMHO Cross-spoke forged in black look pretty nice but again the machine finished cross-spoke may look even better. What was the upholstery with the Black Diamond trim?

Looks stunning. Thanks for the photos. So weird how cars often look better in these "in the flesh" photos.

And yes, there was no Dynamic Plus package, which should be a no-brainer to add. That can also be identified by the different gauge colors (yellow instead on red lines).
Personally I wish they would have the 19 spoke forged in black; I like that design
better than the cross-spoke, but for right now the black cross some is the wheel to get (in lieu of aftermarket).
At least the are using Michelin Pilot Super Sports!

According to Jrcart who has an SLS BS as well as the the AMG GTS, it's the GTS that is the better made car, including the Interior...

Your looks great in silver and love the CF package on the interior. My Edition 1 has the black diamond interior. If I had a choice I would've have gone with silver trim and CF, which would have been a nice contrast against the black leather.

my gt3 steering wheel has leather airbag cover. and its definitely less "luxury" focused than this car. it really makes the steering wheel look more special.
