Ride quality Edition 1 vs standard?
How firm is the ride quality on the street with the Edition 1 package? Is it noticeably stiffer than the standard suspension cars? Thanks.

As far as I know it is not an available option on the GT.

No. It was included as part of the GTS E1 option package. However, it is available on all GTS for more $$$. A little reading on the option should help you decide if it is something you would want to include on your GTS.

I'll just say that about 18 months ago I was driving by a Porsche dealer and saw an edition one parked out front that they just traded. I proceeded to test drive the car and it was so stiff it bounced off potholes really hard. Even the sales gal commented it was rough and she had been in selling highend sports cars for 20 years.
So I made the decision to buy that car the following year but not with that suspension. Now that was one of the first cars and I wouldn't be surprised that the tires were at 45 psi and that the tech that had just delivered the GTS 200 miles earlier had not taken off the shipping braces LOL. That's what that car felt like to me.
My GT is a perfect balance of stiffness, ride/handling now.

From my research it seems the Edition 1 is mainly a cosmetic package to exterior and interior with no suspension changes, so that's why I was surprised to read about its stiff ride. It does also include the Dynamic Plus with the dynamic engine and tranny mounts and wider power band, but that shouldn't increase ride stiffness.
Thanks for the info.

Yeah I think you are right... the shocks are probably the same parts (as a non ED1 with the mirroring suspension) and that's the key as they are the determining factor in the comfort of the ride or lack of it.
I have heard that some think the engine and tranny mounts make it stiffer though as it does reduce flex in certain situations.

GT had Multimatic passive dampers from launch.
It rides very bumpy and stiff, compared to adaptive AMG Ride Control set to Comfort.
Look how Dan gets bumped around on his road test:
