Replace M112 (E24) with M112 (E32) in W202

My technician recently replaced the original engine/transmission (M112 E24) with (M112 E32 from W210 ,112941). The car is running smoothly, but I don't feel the extra 50 HP that much.

The original control unit (ME 2.0) has been used with the modification of wiring/plug to the control module.

- How can I check if the TCU/ECU program has been flashed / coding is correct to E32 version? I have STAR C4.
- Do I need to change the differential ratio in order to gain more response?

thanks.

I think your ME2.0 Rom/file saved for 2.6l, need to re-file it to 3.2l, should to see your Exist file after Engine swap,

*no need to change gearbox. both sharing the same out-put, which is:-(A330Nm/tq)..!

*while you have ME2.0 & EGS51, can't change the diff. ratio,,

have to stick with your Exist ratio, which is 3.67:1 or 3.27:1, while E320 uses 3.07:1..

Thank you for the reply. What the technician did, he changed the engine/transmission and used the old 0235459632/0205459932. How can I check that the new coding has been applied?
I used STAR C4, I cannot identify the new changes.

Do you mean EGS51 cannot work with 3.07? Can I just change to 3.07 and the control units shall adjust themselves?

Which coding..?, did you or your technician put any coding after swap..?,

"020 545 99 32" is the old version of MSG/ME2.0, MB replace it to "023 545 96 32", then replace it again to last # which is "026 545 65 32",,

in the V8 its impossible to change the ratio with EGS51, but while you have V6, you can change the diff. ratio, cause you swap the Engine from V6 to>>V6,

the engine size has a bearing/RT, saved on the EGS module, just you have to adapt your ECU with new ratio..!!

I pulled out the differential from the current car, it has no sensor attached to it. What's the list of model that I can pull differential from?
Does it relate with ASR ABS?
My VIN starts with WDB2020262F747xxx.

I tried to replace it with the differential from w202 c220 3.07 with a sensor attached to it. It turned out badly , ran only 3-speed, 80km/hr with the weird noise from the engine. It wouldn't change to 4/5th gear.

I swapped back and it works normally.
Any suggestion?

What's model year of your C200/C220..?

you should get diff. & TCU from same year of your C200/C220,,

after install them together, you have to code your ECU to accommodate new diff. ratio..!!

It's '98 C240,
ECU 0235459632
TCU 0205459932 EGS51

Is there any setting that can be accessed by SD connect C4, or I need coding thru MB online?

While you have C240, you can get Diff. & TCU from M112 "W202/W208/W210", 98 to 2002,

put them together, then Reset the whole system, your ECU should to manage the signal from the TCU,

but before that, you have to try to put any other TCU, and start the car, if its fire-up, means, you can do all things mentioned above,

if it not fire-up with other TCU, you should to get a special coding from the dealer to make it work,,

*SDS/C3/C4 will not able to adapt new coding with M2.0/EGS51..!

*We swapped Diff. & TCU for my friend's 98 CLK320, from 3.07 to 3.27, last year,

it woks fine, without any issue, with only ECU Reset..
