Do you have any check engine codes. An OBD 2 can tell you even if the check engine light doesn't show. I understand that some places will do a check for free. Pep Boys and Autozone seems to do it. Here is a link to get the codes and what they mean.

If you replaced the bulbs and those lights still aren't showing up when you turn the key on, then there's either a bad connection at the bulb or the wire isn't getting poswer.

How did the contacts look when you took the old bubls out? Are you sure you put the new ones in correctly & snug?

Take the cluster out again and check to see that the bulbs are twisted in & secure. If you're sure they are, then remove them again and use a volt meter to check the connection to be sure the bulb is receiving power.

Question Cluster removal

z3roshift, I am posting this here because you have already experienced cluster removal. I also need to remove the cluster of my 1999 C280 and have seen some videos - some removing the steering wheel by tilting it away from the dash and down. But I don't have a tilt steering wheel.
How did you remove yours? What is the depth of the cluster? Can it
be pulled out and get through the tight space between the dash and the steering wheel?

Thanks.

Simply enter the dash on the sides using a small flat screwdriver and GENTLY wiggle it in the direction of removing it. Don't force it, as the screwdriver (or whatever you use) can leave a small indentation in the dash pad. It would be hardly noticeable, but if your a neat freak, as I am, only you know it's there. The dash will just pop out. I don't have a tilt wheel, and it was no problem. Lots of room.
