W202 C200 engine low ldling at times and cuts out

Hi Guys,
Just recently my car has been cutting out. Most of the time when braking. If it did it before it restarted no problem. Now it is difficult to restart. If you try restarting it if it cuts out, the engine continues to turn over on its own even though you not holding the key onto starter. Would only stop if you switch ignition off.
At times the idle was dropping below 500rpm, whilst idling or creeping, but once you blip throttle it comes back into action. If left for a bit could get it restarted, although would have to put foot onto gas to keep it running.
Unusually, it seems to do it when engine has warmed up a bit. Yesterday I left it parked on its on for about 5 mins testing, then it eventually idled low and cut out. I had even check battery which seemed to be at 12.1V off. and on charge with engine running got it up to around 13.5V
A few months ago it had other issues, I changed the MAF for a genuine one and also lambda O2 sensor for a genuine one; as they both flagged up faults on DAS Star. So those more likely out the question. Fuel filter was changed about 2 years ago and spark plugs and coil pack around the same time.

Its a 1999 W202 C200 auto

Unhappy

I cleaned up the throttle body and it drove better.
Yesterday I noticed the hose after the fuel filter was slight wet. If pushed at an angle it would leak. I removed hose cut it and put it back with the same clip and same thing again. I ten binned it and replaced it with a jubilee clip and is now sound.
I was upset as my laptop packed in on me so I cant use STAR.I had this T22 with WINXP I was using. I tried installing VMware on my newer Lenovo G550 with Win 7. But it kept coming up with stupid messages that the virtual machine being the standalone hard drive is busy. Done a search and see it says it would only work with Win XP.

I had swap the K40 relay in the engine bay diagnostic port fusebox with the fuel pump relay in the boot. The one in the boot gets very hot.
Took the car for a 20 min drive after engine was warmed up, it performed nicely. However when I reached back home, I switched it off and when I restarted it wouldn't start and hesitated. After 3 attempts it exhausted itself of fuel.
Went under the car and realise the fuel pump stopped running, even with the ignition on. Got voltmeter out to check 25A fuse 1 (for fuel pump) in boot and it still had battery voltage. So went to the engine bay and loosened the fuel supply pipe 17mm and 14mm and it hardly had anything in it. Then even under trying to restart nothing came out. Not sure why the pump is dead.
I didn't have much more time to investigate to leave it to cool down to see if it would restart.

Lightbulb

Made some progress yesterday, I had see in Haynes they had resistance values.
Coolant temperature gave 2.08 k ohms at around 30 deg C ( way too much resistance)
Specific values should be 325 ohms at 80 deg C, 1170 ohms at 40 deg C, 3700 ohms at 10 deg C.
Crankshaft position sensor gave 1063 ohms at 30 deg C, should be around 680-1200 ohms. I had put it in some hot water from kettle. It started rising then went open circuit I think around 1170 ohms.
Today I had get a laptop with Windows XP so connected it up to the Multiplexer and DAS Star C4 and low and behold it gave me stored and current faults of the crankshaft position sensor (P0335). Also Coolant temperature sensor (P0115) showed up.
So would buy the parts and see how it goes, more than likely it would be ok from now.
Crankshaft position sensor is Bosch and part number 0261210171 and Coolant temperature Sensor is Beru part number 0824121051 (Merc A 005 153)
Other part numbers that may be useful are;
Coilpack = Bosch 0221506002 (Merc A0001587503)
Ignition HT leads = Bosch 0356150022 (Merc A001567210)
HT lead coil pack spark plug extenders for cylinder 2 and 4 = Beru 0300122105 (Merc A0001593642)

I did change the crankshaft position sensor and it stopped cutting out. Solved the problem, car is running sweet again now.
