Hello, I have a C180 1999 model W202
My SmartKey isn't working, is there a way to reset it or anything that could get it working again!
any help would be appreciated .

Thanks for paying attention
Replaced the batteries and the problem is that the key does not open the doors and does not start the engine
I was told that the key needs to be reconfigured with the car ???

To do this, you need to go to a Mercedes dealer, with a copy of the title (hopefully, it is in your name), and they will code, or get you a new coded key direct from MB. (Not cheap).
From MB's point of view, they want the car to be physically seen by the dealer, so they can verify the title to the car. That means towing it to a dealer, but a little smooth talking may be able to get around that.
Take some photos of the car, and be sure to include license plates and a windshield shot of the serial number.
You can call MB USA, and give them the serial number and some other info (Mileage etc.), and they will enter you into their data base as the new owner.
