Loose side mirror and glass replacement (non standard setup?)

I have a 1999 c280 sport, and the drivers side mirror is both loose and full of oil/liquid.

I was able to remove the housing from the assembly using the video that's often posted on this forum, but I'm unable to figure out how to disconnect the mirror itself from the assembly.

I've seen a few references that people have posted here, but they all just describe popping the mirror off, and from what I can tell, my setup is different. It appears that the mirror itself is attached to the motor behind it, and I can't figure out how to remove it. Here are a few pictures:

One other thing: The side mirror was wobbling all over the place and it's clearly got some part on it that's broken, but I'm not exactly sure what (so I'm not sure what to replace). Here are some pictures of that part of the assembly:

Any suggestions on either or both of these? Thanks! Excited to get this c280 on the road!

I couldn't get this mirror off either. I believe you have the self dimming mirror which is fluid filled. I tried to pop mine off, but it wouldn't come off and fluid started leaking out of the seal. I ended up replacing it with another mirror assembly I found on Ebay which is not self dimming.

As for the wobbling, the pin that the beefy spring hooks onto is broken. Now you have no tension on the mirror housing to keep it stable. This is permanent and there's nothing you can do. If you want I can send you a spare mirror assembly that is non self-dimming. Just pay for shipping. I ended up with 2 for some reason when I tried to replace mine.

Let me go home tonight and locate the mirror before going further. My wife likes to throw my things away.

Most folks fix the broken mount point for the spring with an eye bolt. Simple, easy fix. I am sure a search can find that fix on this site.

The glass gets stuck to the motor and can be pried loose with gentle probing along the edge of the round motor plate, starting from the top and working downward.

Ah yes! I've seen that fix in my searches - I wasn't sure if that would fix my issue or not.

I briefly considered trying to pry the mirror from the motor, but didn't want to risk breaking something if that wasn't the right way to detach it. Thanks for the advice!
