replacing the Use-once tensioner capsule w/ timing chain

Trying to determine if I have to remove the alternator to replace the use-once tensioner capsule. I've heard you have to pull out the alternator to remove the chain tensioner, is it necessary to pull out the alternator to replace the use-once tensioner capsule? Are these two parts really the same part as far as doing a timing chain replacement?

Yes you need to remove the alternator. See WIS method.

Not trying to be a d!ck, but is there a better DIY for removing the timing chain that you know of other than the WIS? For a relatively new-bee, there's too much detail left out. I need more specific instructions for riveting the links and getting the cam timing right.
