Cold C240 engine has no power

Hello,

I have problem with C240 (2001). If environment temperature falling down below zero 0°C, cold engine has no enough power and motor speed limiting up to 2500 RPM using any gear. Sometimes engine starting to vibrate and "check engine" sigh shining in instrument panel. After restart and warming problems will be gone. In summer I haven't any problems.

Car is also equipped with LPG, but problems is same using only petrol. LGP guy said these are engine problems. Car service guys connected board computer to a diagnostic tool and didn't saw anything wrong.

What would be problem? Some people says, that is thermostat broken.

If it was thermostat you would get a P0128 code. I suspect a MAF or temperature sensor problem. That the car is not going into open loop full mixture enrichment properly when very cold.

W203 C240
Hi! This looks like never-ending story.

I found same story has many people with W203 C240, but cannot find real reason. More than year I cannot resolve problems and spend much money with multiple car services. At beginning this year engine power has very low.

Service has been changed.
- all 6 spark plugs
- spark plugs wires
- MAF

Power has better but not enough how 2-3 years ago. Cold engine torque still sometimes limiting on 3500-4000 RPM (not idle) and limits is more pronounced when weather getting colder.

Somewhere I found reason of problems are vacuum leaks. I changed suspicious hose 1120180382, but nothing changed. Other hoses looking good, but I'm not 100% certain this vacuum problem is avoided. How this can be checked?
