Low Oil Level?? After oil change

Hi everyone. I own a 2002 c320 and i just got my engine oil changed. After i left the shop, i was at a red light when i noticed my car kind of stalled on me. This happened when the lights turned green, just as i accelerated, my car didn't move for a second or two. So when i came home i followed these steps to see what my cars oil level is.

1. No key in ignition
2. Insert key, turn to position 1
3. Press "Page Down" steering wheel button (lower right button on the left side) to select any MFD display other than the trip odometer or you will reset your trip odo)
4. Press and hold the reset button (left edge of instrument cluster) until you hear a beep...takes a while, about a minute
5. Press "Page Down" button again once
6. You will see the dyno mode display with oil level values in 'dashes'
7. Turn key to position 2 and wait until system measures oil (several seconds)

because i remember the mechanic telling me the car takes 7.5 quarts or liters and i read online that this car takes 8.5. So after i followed these steps it says that my engine oil level is 6.1 (when cold) and when i start my car it drops down to 5.5 after 30 seconds, on the instrument cluster.

I was just wondering, if the computer is measuring the oil level correctly? Do you guys think the car was acting weird because the mechanics didn't add enough engine oil?

Please help.

I live in Canada. They use the metric system here, except for when you check your height or weight. That's in feets and inches and weight is checked in pounds.

Sorry, i didn't get your first question. Do i find the value from the same spot where it tells you what your engine oil level is?

I clicked V on my on the left side of the steering, this message popped up saying measuring engine oil or something along those lines. And it says add 1 liter, is this correct? Just making sure because the computer does give false warning's sometimes. I am uploading some pictures of that message. I will also upload pictures of my engine oil level on the instrument cluster.

In the pictures, you will notice that at 12:20 pm(car was cold) the reading says my engine oil level is 6.5 1. And then at 12:46 pm- the oil level says 5.9 1( this was after i started my car a couple times, but didn't drive it)

Thanks for helping me out, i appreciate it.

You have not advised your specific engine therefore I have assumed a 112.946-----that engine uses 8 liters of oil with filter change---you live in a metric country therefore your gage's are assumed to be all metric---also assuming the oil level sensor is good simply subtract what the sensor advises from 8 (if filter changed)

Based on your gage's, looks to me you have to add oil--now who shot john or who forgot to shoot john is another story!!

Sorry i don't know what the specific engine is. It's a 3.2 liter v6

I think adding some engine oil should solve the problem.

Thank you, really appreciate your help.
