Dead alarm siren

Hello, the problem with the fuse nr. 8 blowing all the time occured to me today, so I traced the problem to the alarm siren behind the front wheel RHS.
I unplugged the plug and it's "fixed" for now.

But in order to get my alarm functioning, is it possible to just replace the battery, or do I have to replace the whole unit?

And does anyone know if you replace the rear sam unit (preface) to an unit from a facelifted W203 model, do you have to reprogram the sam unit in order to get the alarm up running?

I replaced this unit about a year ago to a facelift unit, and had to reprogram the fuel gauge sensor in order for the fuel gauge to read again. But I was wondering if I have to reprogram something about the alarm as well to fix the alarm? Or does it have the exact same address etc. as on the pre-facelift unit?

Thanks in advance.

Dead alarm siren

Just replace the siren. The battery is inside the siren
SAM can be coded for. With or without alarm function

Okay, so when I replace my alarm siren it will work again, without recoding the sam? Even if I originally had a prefacelift sam unit, but now use a facelift sam unit?

Dead alarm siren

It should work yes. If not just have it coded. Anyway coding will be blocked if siren is faulty. So first step is replace siren
