Can't start after service

New to forum. Please help urgently. I have a 2005 C180k. It has been out of commission for about a year. I replaced the camshaft E gear. Timing chain and rockers. All timing setting in place.
Ignition comes on, engine turns. Just doesn't start.
What could be the problem. Please help.

If you are sure the plugs are getting spark---I would move to the fuel system--pressure, sensors bla bla

The compression test would be difficult without a tool. Spark confirming is easy---simply remove all the plugs, then reattach the wire, then one by one grab each plug with an insulated pliers and have your girlfriend start the car----------do you see spark

PS: when removing the plugs do any of the surfaces look moist??--why do you think I asked that question??

No bent valves, what now

I removed the head cylinder and discovered non of the valves are bent. A diagnostic test revealed no faults.
It still does not start.
What now.

Check the fuel pressure as Pluto says. I think there is provision on the rail for a pressure guage. Look in search as I have read about it here.

Are your plugs wet with fuel after trying to start?

not a merc
Sounds like you in a bit over your head here. But anyway. Firstly why did you only replace one timing gear? Secondly why did you replace the chain in the first place? Thirdly like you have discovered the hard way. Most of the time the valves do not touch the pistons when the valve timing jumps a tooth. Sure sometimes you unlucky and it does bend a valve or 2. No need to remove cyl head to check valves. Just do a cyl leakage test. Are the valve timing marks exactly on there marks when the engine is at TDC? Does it have compression? Did you collapse the hydraulic lifters when you replaced the rockers?
