C240 won't start
My Mercedes c240 will not start. Check engine light came on months ago got it checked out and they said it's the EGR valve. When it shut off it said battery/alternator. When I try and start it it sounds like it wants to start but when I go to give it has nothing happens. Would EGR valve cause this? Alternator and battery seem okay. PLEASE NO RUDE COMMENTS JUST LOOKING FOR HELP 2002 Mercedes C240

Does the engine crank over? If not check fuse 52 has not blown. If it has uprate from 15 to 20A

Check battery 1st, does it hold a charge? 2nd, could be starter.
How long on each? years, miles.

I purchased the car 2 years ago, I've never changed the battery. The car doesn't crank at all anymore, when I turn the key I hear nothing. The lights are on inside and the headlights come on, I have 137,000 miles on the car. Could it be crankshaft position sensor?

well.. your battery is dead for starters. Something tells me you should have the car towed to a shop.
