Weird Warning Light issue
Hello all, first time posting here and I'm looking for some advice. I own a 2002 c230 kompressor, 6MT. I'm having a weird issue where the "Restraint System Visit Workshop SRS" and the "Brake Fluid Level Low Visit Workshop" lights are coming on and off. From what i've seen, the srs light should NOT turn off without a tech resetting the ecu. However, the light seems to clear when i turn the car back on, and this is cycled in with the brake fluid level light coming on the screen as well. The brake fluid is at a good level, and my seatbelts do lock when pulling on them, however the passenger side doesnt retract well. I know that is something to look in to, however, what could explain the lights coming on and off when they shouldn't? Any advice would be appreciated. I can turn a wrench, and I've been cleaning up the front end suspension wise, and have the parts to do the c55 sway bar mod while im there.
Thanks all!
Thanks all!

Out Of Control!!
It's nice that you can turn a wrench, however the issue is diagnostics and to determine the fault----you need someone who can read the SRS control module to determine the light issue, FYI, there are about 20 fault codes associated with that system----an OBD reader is a waste of time!!

But does this sound like a diagnostic issue? What i have found is that under no circumstance should the SRS warning turn OFF without being cleared by a reader? There is even a special code reader for those. This seems to me more like a faulty ecu or module...? The lights come on and off when i start the car.
Car on-- one light
off and then restarted--light gone.
Another time, the other light has come on. There seems to be no pattern of the lights coming on.

MBWorld Fanatic!
can't see the connection 2 totally different systems. you gotta read faults first. no guessing. and yes under certain conditions the srs can clear itself. low voltage is one example!
