2005 Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor
CPS replacement need help!

I have a 2005 mercedes benz c230 kompressor sedan. Before I state my problem let me give you guys the background. My car drove fine with no problems and one day it just stopped working. It would crank but not start.I was told it was a crankshaft position sensor by a mechanic after telling them the problem.I tried to get a reading with my OBD2 diagnostic tool but it didn't give me any readings.I proceeded to buy a new CPS and replaced it myself. It was no small task as it is hidden behind the engine block.Anyway after replacing the CPS now my car won't even crank over.I would turn the key and nothing happens. At least before it showed signs of life by cranking over now nothing. Is there anyone that can help me out because I don't have any solutions to why that is happening....Thanks!!

Any suggestions/comments welcomed!!!

If you put the old CPS back in will it turn over? How many miles do you have on your car? Are you sure it's the CPS and not the fuel pump? How did you go about diagnosing your no-start problem? Have you done a fuel pressure test?

Icebreaker...Actually it does crank over but does not start even after putting the new CPS.My car has 130K miles. The only reason I think it is the CPS is after reading about the CPS issues I found my car to have the same symptoms.I also asked a mechanic who advised I should start with the CPS first. How do I do a fuel pressure test?....Thanks

Under the plastic cover there is a valve like a tire valve. You can depress the valve and see if any fuel squirts out, if not, that's the culprit. If it squirts out you'll have to put a pressure gauge on it and see if you have 40-45 PSI of pressure at least with the key on engine off. Mine went at 120k. If you search around this forum you'll find that most of these puns gives out around that mileage. Mine actually gave out on the highway in the fast lane!!

Location of pressure test fuel valve

Below are the pictures for your reference. You need to unscrew the black cap to get to the valve underneath.
