Need advise - Sport vs Non Sport Rotors?
I would like to replace the front rotors on my 2006 C230 Sport - vin # WDBRN52J3-6A865929 - -- However I don't know if I my car has the Sport Package or not. ------- Other then cross drilled is there a size difference between the standard and Sport Package rotors?

Apparently you need this PN: A2034210512. (Brake pads A0064206220)
From the datacard it looks like your can does not have a sport package.

Yes it seems that even though they named it Sport it does not have the Sport Package. I measured the rotor diameter and they are approx 300 mm which confirms that it's set up with regular rotors. Plan to order e-coated 288mm rotors and semi metallic brake pads.
The Sport Package rotors have 330mm diameter. Any idea if they would fit the hub and also not rub on the callipers?

Look into Akebono ceramic pads. Much less visible brake dust, and longer lasting. The larger rotors will likely not fit, and if they do the pads will be too small for them and you will only be wearing part of the disks. Perhaps ATE, Textar, Brembo or others have cross-drilled or slotted non-sport rotors?

Yes I also thought of this. Don't know about the cracking but all those holes reduce the pad contact surface and also reduce the heat sink coeficient. However I also would imagine that comparison tests must have been conducted justifying the extra machining costs.

Perhaps in variable climates they are more prone to cracking?
42+ thousand miles on oem drilled rotors, so far so good.
I heard slotted ones are more efficient, but don't look as good as drilled

It is now a tested fact that Cross Drilled rotors are not as good as solid rotors and also are prone to cracks. Race cars do not use cross drilled rotors. Porche cars do come with cast vented rotors. Just perhaps your OEM rotors were cast with the vent holes.
