The fact that the light covers on the car to the left are clear has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact they are bi-xenon. MY2003 C-sedans will have bi-xenon as an option, but with the older covers. Both high and low beam uses xenon gas discharge lamps.
Even non-xenon equipped cars will have this look eventually here in the U.S., but not next year. In fact, the car to the left may not even be xenon headlight equipped.
I hear this is going to be a costly retrofit!

Previously, Mercedes xenon headlamps were only for low-beam lighting, which you use most of the time. Your high-beams were still halogen. The bi-xenon lights use xenon gas discharge lamps for both low and high beam applications. It really isn't a huge deal unless you live in a rural area, or you constantly flash people with your highs. Looks a lot better though at night.
Hope this helped.

The lights come clear like that with the "angel eye" style, if you order the Bi-Xenon option for MY2003. I am unsure as to how you could make your lights look like that on a MY2002.

Yes, bi-xenon is an option for MY2003, but that does not mean these new clear style lamps will make it at the same time. We may not see these in the US until MY2004. The new design is not essential to bi-xenon operation.
Like I said before, the new look and the new bi-xenon option are independent.

BTW, for those with coupes, Xenons will not be available for the coupes until December or later.

We're talking covers here. Obviously current Mercedes models do not have clear covers, yet they do have xenon low-beam headlamps. BMW has always had clear lenses, even in their non-xenon models.
It would make sense that these are the new MY2003 headlights. I also heard this intially, but I was told that they will not make it here until MY2004. I say, if they are already out in Europe, hurry up and bring them here.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter. We'll find out soon.
