Jus took some quick pictures while doing my eyelids...

you really need to do it yourself to come to understand certain things like spacing and what not. the pictures i took are pretty straight forward and im sure will help people understand what they are grabbing at and can't really see.

Tools Used: Fingers

1. remove protective shield + 2 clips (each side) pull the center straight up to loosen the clips

2. reach under and remove cover to the eyelid bulb housing by rotating it

3. pull the wiring straight outwards [using your left hand works a lot easier on the inside most bulb on the right side]

4. because the wiring is so short.. find some space where you can have the bulbs fit through

5. remove the originals and pop in the leds [ i noticed that moving the box shown at the bottom right help a lot with the right light... there is very little space to work with otherwise... once again use your right and left hand]

6. position the bulbs by rotating it when you re-insert them into the housing... try to keep it looking symmetrical on both sides.

7. put everything back.

Why would you do step 1??? Never did it before. It's a 60 second job to change the W5W

indeed it's pretty simple.. but not everyone has done it... and more times not everyone will do it unless they see the process... this is not for professional bulb removers... but for those who are scared they might mess something up.

and step 1 creates more space... when the cover is off there are exposed spaces that you can use to your advantage whether it be seeing what you are grabbing or being able to push the short wiring through.

if you leave the shield on... you must be laying on the engine and have woman hands lol... dunno how it's possible without removing.

Never thought of doing step one. Even with my big hands I have plenty of room. Good job on the DIY.

Great job. I too never removed the shield, but it sure would have made things easier. Scratched my knuckles up a little feeling my way around.

Great DIY. I am another that has never removed the shield...I would think it may be helpful on the drivers side but the passenger side is really pretty wide open.
I think I will be swithing back to the Polargs from the LEDs. The LEDs are really, really bright but the housing just makes them too purple...I may try taking the drivers shield off to see how much it helps.

Don't pull on the wires! I found it easiest to use needle nose pliers to grab the orange piece and pull. They popped right out.

GREAT DIY !!!!! Also, if you do this, try the lights BEFORE putting everything back together to make sure they work. If one doesn't light up, switch the polarity by turning the bulb 180 degrees inside the socket.

thanks for posting...

yeah, driver's side is a little tight. a nice long nose pliers should do the trick. just be patient and careful
