Average Door Ding Repair Cost?
Well it had to happen eventually, just wish it wasn't at 600 miles when it did...
My C300 is used for night and weekend driving only, against my better judgment I took it out to the movies on Thursday to see Public Enemies (fantastic movie btw) and of course parked 50 spaces away from everyone else. Came out, white truck had parked next to me, cool....got home girlfriend looks at my car and says WTF is that?!?!...not cool. And sure enough, about a 3-4 inch wide ding in the door with white paint all around it and what appears to be 2 hole looking dings in the center (similar to a snake bite).
I don't have any pics (still not fully living in the digital age yet) but there are a couple of chips in the center. The two body shop quotes I got today were for $628 and $447. Do these seem reasonable to you guys? I know Mercedes repairs are expensive but damn, for a door ding? Thought about getting the dealer to fix it but they always charge an arm and a leg. Let me know what advice you have on the situation, thanks in advance!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about what happened. It's always those idiots who have to park right next to you when the entire lot is empty.
Sounds like pretty extensive damage and requires repainting. Shop around and ask for referrals.

I had a serious (I mean SERIOUS) ding repaired at the dealership for $150. Luckily, it didnt require any paint. The ding repair is 100% unnoticeable; they did an AWESOME job.

Always go to your dealership and ask, I don't know of a single dealership that doesn't have a wheel/door ding/minor paint guy that stops in once or twice a week to repair all their used cars.

Usually dent removal people charge per panel and it averages about $70-90 per. I wouldn't hesitate at all to use them in the proper situations.
I recently got dented on the same door TWICE in 3 months and both were deep enough where paint was scrapped off. To repaint the whole door with finishing(blending the sides) it cost me $1600. The second dent was not as bad as the first requiring a topical paint over which was $600. Both using Sikkens which are as good as paint as you can really get(imo). Luckily for me, both dents, those who did it left a note.

Wow, left a note? Completely unheard of in Louisiana lol. People take no pride in ownership here (their own stuff or someone else's). In the year that I've lived here I've been backed into in a parking lot, sideswiped by a Lincoln (hit and run) and now have the door ding.
Oh and the Dent Wizard says they have no locations in Louisiana
Thanks for the responses guys, this 4th of July weekend has made dealerships and body ships hard to get in touch with...I'm going to try the dealership tomorrow and see what I can get done.
