No, I don't think so. If your fingers are not all thumbs, you can do this mod as I did. It sounds much more complicated as it is.

Wow! That looks great, I really don't like the little round buttons that come OEM. Did you have to cut the w212 unit fascia to size?
Hi Guys!
This thread inspired me to do the same in my Pre Facelift 204.
My main intention was to show android apps like torque pro/dash comand on the Comand screen, ...like AMG Performance Media for poor fellows!
I did this after I retrofitted the NTG4 headunit of the W212. So here a few pics of my car.

First, thanks for this tutorial, pretty amaizing. My question is:
I have a 2012 c250 with I believe just the standard Audio 20. There is nothing additional, no iPod hook up, no Nav, no nothing, just the 5" screen and the aux hook ups in the center console. What parts do I need to make this happen with my current equipment?
This is my first Benz and I've only had it for less than a month, so I'm a little lost.
My main goal is to install Nav that can be controlled by COMAND.
Thanks so much.

Very nice, i'm interested to fit one on my 2009 GLK with ntg4.
For those who have ntg4 like me, i think there is a solution, the xcarlink which allow you to use the only one video aux:
http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...&cat=22&page=1
But i'm not sure because i don't understand english very well, i've emailed them.

AstronBnX thanks for your feedback.
What's about the power when you switch off the engine? Is it safe for the battery ? Does the android module switch off when the engine switches off ?
Many questions ^^
thx for your answers

I'm using this part for Android power supply. And i connect it to car cigarette lighter cable. When you switch off the car, it automaticly closes. So that it is safe for the battery.
Here is the new Android module for glovebox I changed my old android with this;

Hi all friends,
I want to share with all of you for my new project. I did it 2 months ago but, i'm still improving and developing some codes.
My aim right now, controlling car volume with my Galaxy Gear and other car properties. Like; reading vehicle Speed, RPM, Torque.. For the next step i will give comand with voice to Gear like "Close windows"..
or may be, "Hello KITT, come next to me" It is joke of couse.. One day it may be comes true, i don't know
thank you for understanding..
reha.

Yes, this Comand NTG4.5.. As you know there are no RCA and rear Cam input. You need to have multimedia interface for Audio20. Please check it out my previous post for multimedia interface.

Another question for you AstronBnX,
If I have this configuration : NTG4 + XCARLINK Interface, I have to switch manually from the OEM OS to my AV inputs (by holding return button).
OK.
Then if I'm watching a video on a AV input, any notification from the OEM OS (as a Navi, seat belt, Oil level alert notification) would not be reported ?
Moreover, if the reverse camera is plugged to the only one input of the NTG4 (and not to the Xcarlink interface), in reverse gear nothing would happen?
Am I right ?
Thanxx for your response and pieces of advice

Such warnings are visible in the car's instrument cluster, not in Comand screen. Don't worry.
"Moreover, if the reverse camera is plugged to the only one input of the NTG4 (and not to the Xcarlink interface), in reverse gear nothing would happen?"
In fact this is relevant as which one of the multimedia interface you are using. Generally, these multimedia interfaces are connected CAN line and read gear positions from CAN. If you are Rear drive mode, it will automaticly switch to rear cam. You can define states changing DIP S/W on Xcarlink.

Dear AstronBnX,
I have read your guide to connecting an Android Mini-PC to the NTG4 system and I really want to apply the steps you have presented to my car also (Mercedes E Coupe C207 from 2009). From what I have read on your posts, it seems that I have the NTG4 version (without the browser icon on top-right) and also no Internet functions.
I have few questions for you if you are willing to reply to me:
- for example, if I do not have the media interface (I do not have the USB port to use USB flash disks) --> can I use the video aux of the rear camera (which is not installed, I do not use it)?
- do you have any recommendation where I could buy a Video-In-Motion (VIM) Module for NTG4? Or an Audio-Video interface which connects to the rear-camera AUX port and which also includes a VIM module?
I have found such an AV Interface with VIM included and also additional RGB port for higher-quality video connection, but its main disadvantage was that it only offers video through the rear-camera AUX, and for AUDIO it says that if I do not have additional AUX input, I have to insert some FM modulator which is quite unhandy. Do you happen to know if NTG4 has another AUX input for Audio, beside the rear-camera AUX?
Can you please give me some piece of advice of where I should look for these modules or better companies who produce them?
I am looking forward to receiving your reply.
Kind regards.

- The problem is rear cam input, it is activated by rear drive mode. This means you cannot use as AV input.
- Yes, Kufatec is the best VIM module arround. You can also find chinese VIM modules from Ebay.
